Here's the third book that follows after The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons... Robert Langdon is the main character again, so if you follow books by Dan Brown and this most recent series, you'll love this. So far so good...

SUNDAY FUNDAY!

Yesterday's Sunday Funday turned out to be extremely memorable.. The day started off a little late due to the usual Sunday morning hangover. I headed over to Jalene's house where her dad was celebrating his birthday, and that usually means Slosh City for anyone attending! Of course Mrs. Wilburn had an all American feast set out, along with the usual snacks at hand, it was delicious! I started off with a few Heinekens, just posted with Jalene, Alexis and Lindsey watching Stand By Me. Eventually, boredom started to set in, so we all thought it would be a good idea to head out to Coronado to roam around on some beach cruisers. We packed some beers to go and bounced.. It was totally worth it! Beautiful day out, a perfect way to spend with the besties. Turns out Sunday coincidentally marked the Coronado Bay Bridge's 40th birthday! Did you know it was originally gonna be painted RED?! Darn, ha.. After heading home to shower and change, the night ended up over at RA, our favorite Sunday night hangout :) Sake bombs and veggie tempura for days :) Sunday well spent..

Today's Flashback

After dealing with a lot of stress from last year's summer, I remember this particular day being the start of a new beginning for me.. You can't even really see me since Daniel's tall ass is in front, but I'm down there somewhere with almost everyone else, watching a few games of beer pong at Mitch's. This was the Memorial Day weekend, right before ASR was kicking off, so Fall started off pretty crazy! I love my friends :)

WEDNESDAY!

This Wednesday, August 5th, marks the date of the first public Chargers practice for 2009! It will be held at Qualcomm Stadium, gates open up at 5pm, free parking, no admission.. Practice runs from 7-9:30pm, concessions sold for $1, it just can't get any better than that! So if you aren't doing anything Wednesday night, roll out to The Q for some SD football :)

Today's Flashback

2005ish... Only NINETEEN years old here!!! This was when JT's in Mission Gorge was just starting to pop off, and Mindz Alike was really making their debut, it was good shit. Back then, JT's well drinks were only a dollar each! As you can see here, the $1 wells were always getting the best of us, Jayce is obviously unconcious haha.. This was the beginning of Wednesdays officially starting the weekends off, and the beginning of calling in sick Thursday mornings.

Ron, Justin, Nikki, Jessu at the bottom and Me, all taking good "care" of Jayce :)

Plaxico Burress Faces Charges

New York Giants' Plaxico Burress is currently faces gun charges and potential jail time for having a gun on him inside a NY night club.. Sad thing is, he DOES obtain permits for all his guns, but the state of New York will not recognize the permit he holds from FLORIDA. And even worse, the only reason why he was caught in the first place was because HE ACCIDENTLY SHOT HIMSELF IN THE LEG. Is a punishment even necessary here?! Nevertheless, Plaxico still has to play the whole "remorse" part for professional and moral reasons, so he is deeply sorry. For shooting. Himself...? Ha. What the fuck ever.

Vick Is BACK!

After being held responsible for illegal pitbull fighting, Michael Vick served TWO YEARS in prison.. At last, the former Falcons' quarterback has returned to the NFL. Given that he has ALREADY served his time for his actions, why the fuck is the NFL still suspending him from the 2009 season for the first 6 weeks?! The way I see it: you fuck up, you do your time. That's it. This bunk ass extended punishment thing is really unnecessary, the first 6 weeks of the season are CRUCIAL...

It seems that the suspension still is not set in stone, but it's pretty obvious he won't be playing right away which is affecting his future as to what team will pick him up as their quarterback. Teams are having doubts as far as how good of shape Vick is at this point and if he'll be able to pick up the game 6 weeks into the season.. Shitty. If ANY team had any type of brains, they'd swoop on this guy right away, regardless of his suspension. Michael Vick is a playmaking machine!
A little bit of good news, Vick has been appointed a mentor to help guide him back to football success. And not just any mentor.. recently retired, Tony Dungy!! I don't even play football (and I'm a girl), but I'd have him as my mentor any day!

Whatever the outcome, best of luck to Vick, I really can't wait to see him back on the field..

The actual ceremony took place last night in Hollywood, but since you probably weren't present sitting next to David Beckham and Kobe, it'll be airing Sunday on ESPN at 9pm.. Can't wait!

4th of July

Apologies for not blogging in a while, life has been to good to stop and write! I guess I'm just gonna skip right over to this past weekend for a small recap. I don't have much pictures anyways because we were all pretty hooched up on beer and vodka, so bear with me with what I got. The 4th of July for us usually means we'll be spending it in Coronado, and nothing starts the day off like a nutritious whole pepperoni pizza for 5 donners.

Finally getting into Coronado, we stopped at Zack (and Kyle's) pad to meet everyone.. Ant musta been checkin out the hot babes on their pink beach cruisers...!

After some catching up to everyone else's level, it was off to the annual dodgeball block party down the road. Insane? Always.. This charming fellow is ready to rage..

After a day well spent at the dodgeball party, it was a struggle to find parking at the Coronado golf course. We made it just in time to be right under the fireworks :) A few pit stops to the candy shop, Domino's Pizza and a couple port-a-potties, I concur the 4th of July was another success, always out doing the year before...

Currently Reading: Heart-Shaped Box

So I normally don't seek out thrillers for reading, but my auntie had just finished reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill and insisted that I read it. I can tell you that this book picks up pretty fast and IT'S FUCKING SCARY! This Ozzy Osbourne-type rocker lives this goth lifestyle and ends up buying a "ghost" on the internet to add to his collection of weird shit. Turns out someone was out to curse him and set him up to buy this ghost in the first place, which pretty much results in some old man's dead body lurking around his house and possessing people to commit suicide. Im only a few chapters in, but I think this book is for daytime reading only from now on, haha... I'll be damned if I see that old guy sitting in a chair in my room in the middle of the night!!! Check it out, it's a good read so far :)
